The Story

The Story
Sunboxeg began in 2016 out of a love for handmade craftsmanship, and has since evolved into a brand that offers sustainable products like tote bags, pouches, and practical apparel. The mission is to help consumers shop less and express themselves through designs that are both functional and meaningful.
Sunboxeg designs celebrate self-expression, sustainability, and authenticity, creating products that allow customers to integrate style and purpose into their everyday lives. Each piece is designed to be timeless, practical, and a reflection of individuality.
The Designer
Sunboxeg was founded by Nada Medhat, who brings her passion for handmade artistry and functional design into every creation. The studio also collaborates with talented designers for exclusive collections, or draws inspiration from fellow creatives, always giving credit where it is due. The team’s work is fueled by a commitment to honest design, creativity, and celebrating the richness of local craftsmanship, while continuously exploring new ideas and collaborations.
The Process
Products are crafted either entirely by hand or in partnership with small local workshops, supporting Egyptian artisans. From the very first concept and design to production, shipping, and delivery, every step is carefully curated. Customer feedback is a core part of the process, ensuring that each piece resonates with the people who use it. Sunboxeg embraces imperfections as part of the charm of handmade products, creating items that are authentic, sustainable, and made with care.

The Hands Behind Sunbox Club

Nada Medhat is the founder and creative director of Sunbox, a brand established in 2016, driven by her passion for handmade crafts and creative expression. With over 10 years of experience, she specializes in hand embroidery and its integration into contemporary product design. Her artistic journey includes attending a ceramics workshop with artist Reem Darwish and a punch needle workshop with artist Yoko, which enriched her understanding of materials, texture, and craftsmanship.

Salma Soliman is an artist and designer specializing in sustainable fashion and hand embroidery. An Art Education graduate, she has been exploring handmade crafts since 2019, shaping a creative path where traditional handcrafts meet modern artistic expression.
She refined her craftsmanship through a jewelry-making scholarship at the Azza Fahmy Foundation and the 'Mn Qomash’ grant for upcycling and tailoring, deepening her expertise in intricate detailing.
Her work focuses on transforming discarded fabrics into meaningful, wearable art, blending visual storytelling with a practical approach to sustainability.
